Who is Hans Herchen?
Hans is a man of action and leadership who puts people above politics. He is a problem solver with resilient personal conviction, unwavering principles, and a common-sense approach to tackling the big issues that matter most to Lac Ste. Anne – Parkland and the province we call home.
As a lifelong Albertan born and raised right here in Lac Ste. Anne – Parkland, Hans understands rural Alberta. As a proven professional who works throughout the province, he knows how to find common ground among diverse stakeholder groups and champion solutions that work for everyone. He is exactly the type of conservative we need as our voice.
For more than three decades, Hans has served rural and urban families as a practicing dentist, building clinics, mentoring young professionals, and improving access to life- changing healthcare across the province. As President of the Alberta Dental Association, Hans represented over 3,000 dentists in advocating for practical, patient-centered solutions — work he has continued to champion in his current "Past President" role, and using the same common-sense, people-first approach he aims to bring to Lac St. Anne-Parkland.
Why He’s Running
Dr. Herchen is not a man of politics; he is a man of action. Hans knows that, as great as Alberta is today, and for all it has given generations past, our best days are ahead of us. Hans recognizes that the future we all want for our children and grandchildren requires the conscientious and committed participation of all Albertans in the electoral process and in maintaining strong, principled governments that focus on our families, communities, and businesses.
Dr. Herchen is not running because he knows all the answers. He is running because people recognize in him the persistence, calm temperament, and proven critical thinking skills needed to embrace the opportunities that come with new challenges and weather the storms of uncertain times. The next election is going to be about more than who can recite the conservative tropes of the past, it will be about who can reforge common sense conservatism for a new generation and a new Alberta. Hans is that candidate, and that is why he is running.
